The world is a far from perfect place, yet we all exist here, for now. As individuals and as a society, we construct meaning around life, identity, and routines. We adopt habits, for better or worse. We leave our marks on the world. We all struggle, in our own ways, with what it means to be alive.
My art attempts to capture a sliver of the myriad of moments and experiences that make up this life. The beauty of these moments lies in the meaning that people build around them. As natural storytellers, we inevitably categorize moments in life based on their subjective meaning to our individual journeys—the stories of which we are constantly subconsciously revising. My paintings seek to bring some of these moments to life, to aid in the construction of beautiful stories.
